Pottery

Hardworking, long-lasting, and beautiful! See our Pottery selection!

Each piece is hand-made, original, and unique! A few of the pottery types we carry are:

The Talavera Pottery heritage originally came from the Talavera de la Reina region in Spain and introduced to Mexico, in the regions of Puebla, Atlixco, Cholula and Tecali, Mexico, where it became a highly developed ceramic due to the availability of fine clay and of the craftsmen centered in those areas. All pieces are traditionally hand-thrown on a potter's wheel and glazed. Color and design of each piece are highly regulated.

Mexican Majolica Pottery primarily differs from 'Talavera Poblana' pottery only in the art form and use of colors. Majolica Pottery is from the state of Guanajuato, in and around the village of Santa Rosa. Majolica uses more free-form designs and artwork. It is also made with only locally-sourced, fine-quality clay and mineral glazes. Every pottery piece is artisan-created in traditional methods by hand-turning and hand-painted.

Vietnamese Pottery is made from the heavy, thick, and strong clay indigenous of the area and made by local artisans. Vietnam is a country rich in handicraft products, thanks to the hard-working, dexterous, creative qualities of the Vietnamese people. Traditionally the art of Vietnam is diverse and is a product of many centuries, time periods, and cultures melding past and present art forms into a unique and quality product.  Pottery from Vietnam is durable, graceful - normally in neutral and natural colors.
