We are seeking a friendly and knowledgeable Sales Representative to join our garden center team. This role primarily involves assisting customers with their gardening needs, providing expert advice on plants, and maintaining the outdoor plant areas. The ideal candidate is passionate about gardening, and customer service, and thrives in an outdoor work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers in selecting plants, tools, and other gardening products.
- Provide expert advice on plant care, landscaping, pest control, and gardening best practices.
- Help customers with their orders, including taking orders over the phone and processing transactions.
- Answer customer questions in-person, over the phone, or via email, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Assist in the maintenance and care of plants, including watering, pruning, and overall upkeep.
- Participate in general garden center upkeep such as cleaning, organizing, and maintaining displays.
- Restock and ensure outdoor plant areas are well-presented and inventory is properly managed.
- Support in loading and unloading plants, gardening supplies, and other materials as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming outdoor environment.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of plants, gardening, and landscaping is preferred.
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to assist customers with questions in a friendly, professional manner.
- Ability to work outdoors and be on your feet for extended periods.
- Comfortable with some manual labor, including lifting and carrying plants and gardening supplies.
- Basic computer skills for taking orders and managing customer interactions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
